I have sprained my finger. Yesterday I opened the vegetable drawer in the fridge with the ring finger of my right hand, and felt it twinge in protest. Later, in a frenzy of creative passion, I overextended it while energetically reaching for the ‘9′ key.
You may mock, but it’s very sore. And if you’re the type of person who – perhaps not relishes – but makes light of the suffering of your fellow man (or woman), well. All I’m saying is maybe you’re not the person I thought you are, is all.
PS JohnO, I’m really sorry about slagging you off that time you sprained your thumb. It must have been AGONY
I had a hurty knee once. I fell off my bike on the way to school and it took a bit of skin off my knee – I was 12, and I didnt cry.
I’m not saying it was worse than your hurty finger, but it was obviously more traumatic.
I hope, twenty years from now, you’re not having flashbacks to what will now be known as the “vegetable drawer incident”.
It’s always sad when you see friends in pain, and are unable to help – one can only hope a litre of port can go some way to allieviating the memory of an over-extended digit. On a positive note I now have a reason to show you my knee scars one day!
Oh. Saw this the other day. An answer to the question that has to be asked.
“Is Niamh a bad idea?”

Hahaha! Thanks for that
I was ambivalent about my name growing up, but I love it now. In the Middle East, I wasn’t bothered by mispronunciation or misspelling, but people suggesting I spelled it phonetically always miffed me!
